Module 5: Soft Tissue Management

Soft tissue and its management are critical around both natural teeth and implants. It plays a crucial role in achieving the desired aesthetic outcome, hygiene and longevity of the treatment.

Soft tissue management module will help clinicians understand the techniques to improve volume and quantity of soft tissue. Different techniques pertaining to grafting like connective tissue graft, free gingival graft, flap design and suturing techniques will be covered. Hands-on training is included in this module.

Dr. Dimitriy Ivanov

DDS Periodontist & Implant Specialist (UCLA)

Dr. Dmitriy Ivanov is a Diplomat of American Board of Periodontology with focus on the treatment of periodontal disease, hard and soft tissue augmentation and advanced dental implantology. He has received an extensive training in all aspects of periodontics, oral implantology and moderate IV sedation, helping the most anxious patients receive excellent aesthetic periodontal care. He is a member of American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the California Society of Periodontics. Dr. Ivanov received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara, graduating with Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors). He was awarded a D.D.S. degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry and continued his post-doctoral education in Advanced Periodontics and implant dentistry residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of West Los Angeles/UCLA Medical Center. His residency had an emphasis on medically-compromised patients, full-mouth rehabilitation, interdisciplinary perio-prosthodontics reconstructive therapy and full-arch implant treatment. After completion of his residency, Dr Ivanov achieved a diplomat status with the American Board Of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. Dr. Ivanov is a former clinical instructor of periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry in Westwood and the UCLA Venice Dental Clinic. Besides clinical work, Dr Ivanov enjoys speaking publicly on the topics of Soft and Hard tissue reconstruction around teeth and dental implants nationally and internationally.
